Living our mission to improve the lives of women and girls locally, we are involved in a wide variety of service to the community. Sometimes alone, other times in partnership, Soroptimist strives to help women in need, and provide education to women and girls.

Soroptimist hosts a Soroptimist Teen Corner at the Fullerton Public Library (Main Branch) to bring pertinent and timely reading materials to young women with regard to career choices, health decisions, and other appropriate reading materials.

Soroptimist is a community partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton providing many helping hands for their community Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas gift event, and other projects throughout the year.

A signature project of Fullerton Soroptimist is co-hosting the CSUF Domestic Violence Conference which is held every October.  In addition to providing speakers, program input, and funds, Soroptimist work the day of event helping with registration and meeting community members.

Other projects Fullerton Soroptimist supports include: Project Underwear (undergarments for women/children at Crittenton), Fish of Fullerton (Transportation for Medical & Groceries for the Senior Community), Fullerton Fire Department, Fullerton Elementary Schools (books and donations), St. Jude Medical Center, as well as many other worthy causes.

What we do...
How can we accomplish so much?  We work hard to raise the money necessary to fund each of these projects.  In addition to grants and sponsorships, we raise funds through dues and community activities.  See our latest event under the "Events" tab.  Our last two fundraisers were:

Redneck Wedding, Silent Auction, and Luncheon - in April of 2013 Soroptimist held it's annual fundraiser at the Ebell Club in Fullerton.  Over 125 people supported the event with net proceeds of over $7,000.00.  Stephen John and the Alchemy Theatre Company presented an improvisational Redneck Wedding.  Guests enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch provided by Big B's Barbecue.  It was a special day for members and community friends!  A dollar dance was held to raise funds for Project Underwear.

Spa Day - In conjunction with the Fullerton College Massage and Cosmetology Departments and Students, Soroptimist held it's first Spa Day this past November 2011.  For a very reasonable donation, friends and members signed up to receive mini-facials, massages, manicures, pedicures, reflexology, and airbrush make up application.  It was unanimous, it was a very relaxing day.  Proceeds were split between Soroptimist and Fullerton College massage and cosmetology schools for use in providing services to women victims of Domestic Abuse.
